ana batista borden | owner & principal architect

Ana Batista Borden, is a licensed architect in the State of Louisiana, as well as a LEED AP BD+C, with a Masters in Architecture from The School of Architecture at Tulane University. Her diverse portfolio is comprised of her experience in southeast Louisiana as well as throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.

Ana was recently selected among the entrepreneurs for the Shell LiveWire Louisiana Accelerator Program! She has been featured in New Orleans City Business’s 2014 Construction/Engineering ‪Ones To Watch and featured as one of ENR Texas & Louisiana’s 2016 Top 20 under 40‬. Ana has worked and been Project Architect for large entities such as Ochsner Health System’s Hospitals, Louisiana State University School of Medicine, Shriners Hospitals for Children, The College of Dupage and Advocate Health Care’s Hospitals (Chicago).

Her extensive experience in the field has not gone unnoticed as other architects and engineers reach out to her to provide innovative perspectives, building assessments, code analysis, and assist in detailing and specifications for complex programs. Conceptual design to detailing those initial ideas into reality are her favorite aspects of the design and construction field. Challenges, such as historic renovations, complex additions, retrofits while fulfilling aesthetic and budget goals are always welcomed. Ana is also considered a Green Sector Professional and advocates for emerging technology and approaches.

Her passion in architecture and the arts stem from her childhood obsession from Legos and painting in various mediums. She even provides watercolor renderings recreating homes destroyed in Katrina or buildings succumb to funding or neglect. Maintaining a consistent, intense schedule during her college career fueled her experience in the profession at a young age while pursuing construction experience during full-time internships before the age of 19. As a first generation American, her upbringing has given her a profound respect for striving excellence and preserving ethics while respecting budget goals without sacrificing quality. These experiences have given her the skills and knowledge to coordinate building systems and foster construction relationships to deliver and exceed a client’s expectations.

Ana is very active in her community from speaking at the annual career day at her alma mater, Mount Carmel Academy, speaking to young women about construction and design.serving on the Old Metairie Garden Club’s Board of Directors, as Director of Arts Festival, to painting watercolors for non-profits and a utility box, and as co-founder and contributor for the Clarion Herald’s NOLA Catholic Parenting Blog. When she is not active in our community or designing, specifying or in the field, she enjoys walking adventures with her family throughout New Orleans, making king cakes, summer afternoon baseball games at the neighborhood parks and walking adventures in our hometown.
